The Supreme Court has ordered Malacañang to comment within 10 days on a petition seeking to compel President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to undergo medical and drug tests, including a hair follicle examination.
The petitioners, led by former Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, asked the Court to require the President to disclose his health status, citing constitutional provisions on public accountability and the right to information.
They argued that the President’s physical and mental condition is a matter of public concern amid a declared national emergency over rising fuel prices.
The group also cited alleged observations and unverified reports about his health, while urging full disclosure of medical findings.
The Court has not yet given due course to the petition.
