Australian guard Ben Simmons has agreed to a one-year, $3.5-million deal with the Sacramento Kings after missing the previous NBA season due to nagging back injuries.
The 30-year-old former No. 1 overall pick last played in early 2025 with the Los Angeles Clippers and was reportedly signed after impressing the Kings during a workout.
Simmons is expected to back up rookie guard Darius Acuff while providing additional depth at other positions.
Over eight NBA seasons, Simmons has averaged 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game, with his best years coming with the Philadelphia 76ers.
His return gives the Kings another veteran option as they look to improve after finishing 22-60 last season and making the playoffs only once since 2006.
