MINORS, DECEASED PERSONS APPEAR ON INTEL FUND RECIPIENT LIST

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) testified that the list of supposed informants paid from Vice President Sara Duterte’s confidential funds included 37 deceased people and 25 minors, including a two-month-old baby.

PSA Assistant National Statistician Marizza Grande said the agency verified 2,669 names from acknowledgment receipts submitted by the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.

Of these, 1,685 had no records in the PSA database, while some listed recipients were found to have been born only years before they allegedly received payments.

Grande described the findings as “unusual and unique,” while Sen. Bam Aquino urged authorities to determine whether the names were aliases.

Senate President Francis Escudero, however, noted that the PSA database is not a perfect or universal record because of gaps in civil registration.
