FEMALE CANDIDATES OUTNUMBER MALE TAKERS IN 2026 BAR EXAM

More than half of the 11,900 examinees taking the 2026 Bar exams are women, the Supreme Court reported.

About 56 percent, or more than 6,000 examinees, are female, continuing the trend seen in recent years.

Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan said he was inspired by the growing number of women aspiring to become lawyers.

Bar officials also noted that many mothers, including those who recently gave birth, took the exam despite their family responsibilities.

The second and third days of the Bar exams will be held on Sept. 9 and 13, with results expected in January.
