SM Supermalls has reached its 500th job fair milestone, connecting around 330,000 jobseekers with employment opportunities nationwide, with more than 42,000 hired on the spot.
The program, held in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Public Employment Service Offices (PESO), and industry groups, brings job opportunities closer to communities through SM’s mall network.
SM also partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to promote skills training and employment, with more than 1,000 jobseekers and 54 employers participating in a recent World Café of Opportunities event.
TESDA training in areas such as robotics, HVAC, animation, driving and barista skills was highlighted as a way to improve workplace readiness and career opportunities.
SM said its employment advocacy will continue through nationwide job fairs, free training and upskilling sessions in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital literacy and cybersecurity.
