President Marcos has ordered a three-month suspension of excise taxes on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene to help ease the impact of rising fuel costs amid an energy crisis.
The order, issued through Executive Order No. 114, covers LPG and kerosene used for household purposes but excludes certain industrial and aviation uses.
The suspension was based on recommendations from the Development Budget Coordination Committee after global oil prices exceeded the threshold under Republic Act No. 12316.
Under the directive, tax rates will be reviewed monthly and may be adjusted or lifted depending on oil price trends and market conditions.
The government said the measure is expected to provide immediate savings for households and is part of broader efforts to cushion the impact of high fuel prices.
