Malacañang announced that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation of National Security Adviser Eduardo Año, who is retiring from public service due to health reasons.
Former Armed Forces chief-of-staff Eduardo Oban Jr. has been appointed as his replacement.
Año was recognized for his contributions in strengthening national security, counterterrorism, and inter-agency coordination during his tenure since 2023.
He previously served under former presidents Rodrigo Duterte and Benigno Aquino III in key security and defense roles.
The Palace expressed confidence that Oban will ensure continuity in national security policies and priorities.
