The Department of Agriculture (DA) has started the nationwide release of the P10-billion Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk
(PAFF) to support over 4.1 million beneficiaries.
Each eligible farmer and fisher will receive PHP2,325 to help offset rising fuel, transport, and production costs driven by global conflicts.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said the aid, though modest, will provide relief and help sustain food production nationwide.
The majority of recipients are rice and corn farmers, followed by sugar producers and fishers.
Initial payouts will be rolled out in several regions, alongside continued fuel subsidies and other support programs.
