Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan said increased tourism and people-to-people exchanges could help ease misunderstandings between the Philippines and China.
He said discussions are ongoing with Philippine officials on extending visa-free arrangements for Boracay and Bohol to boost visitor arrivals.
Jing noted that Chinese tourist numbers to Boracay have started recovering after the pandemic, though still below pre-pandemic levels.
He also reported a rise in both Chinese arrivals in the Philippines and Filipino travelers to China following expanded visa-free policies.
The ambassador added that improved air links and social media promotion are further strengthening tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
