Makati City is now closer to achieving full drug-cleared status after Barangay Guadalupe Viejo, its last remaining barangay, was certified as drug-cleared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC).
Mayor Nancy Binay said the development marks a major milestone for the city, noting that all 23 barangays are now recognized as drug-cleared.
She credited barangay officials, law enforcement agencies, health workers, and residents for their cooperation in supporting the city’s anti-drug efforts.
Binay said the achievement reflects Makati’s sustained commitment to public safety and vowed to strengthen community-based programs on prevention, rehabilitation, and education.
The declaration followed a strict validation process led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and partner agencies under national anti-drug clearing guidelines.
