The Commission on Higher Education allowed higher education institutions to shift to online classes amid fuel price increases and transport disruptions.
Solid North Party-list Rep. Ching Bernos urged local government units to support college students who lack access to digital tools and internet resources.
She said the situation should not repeat the inequalities seen during the pandemic and warned that it could worsen into an education crisis if ignored.
Bernos encouraged LGUs to revive past initiatives such as free Wi-Fi, device distribution, and internet subsidies for students.
She added that coordinated support from local governments is needed to ensure students are not left behind in their studies.
