Vice President Sara Duterte canceled her planned trips to five countries, citing a “last-minute” travel authority from Malacañang.
However, the Malacañang Palace denied the claim, saying the travel document was issued a day before her scheduled departure.
The Vice President has also been skipping House impeachment hearings, which include allegations of misuse of funds and betrayal of public trust.
Malacañang questioned the timing of her travel plans amid ongoing investigations involving billions of pesos flagged by the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
It also said her travel requests could still be approved if properly filed, even as impeachment complaints against her remain pending.
