Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte’s remarks against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. are not considered a real threat, dismissing them as mere talk.
Remulla made the statement in a GMA News interview, saying that leaders should act in a more statesman-like manner.
He added that there is always a credible threat against the President, who is the most protected person in the country.
The remarks were made in response to Duterte’s recent statements during a political event, where he made provocative comments against Marcos.
Duterte, son of former president Rodrigo Duterte, has previously made similar public challenges and remarks.
