REMULLA SAYS HUNT FOR BATO, ATONG, CO KEEPING HIM AWAKE

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the continued elusiveness of Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang, and former Ako Bicol party-list Rep.

Zaldy Co has been keeping him awake as authorities intensify efforts to arrest the three fugitives.

Remulla said Dela Rosa’s background as a former Philippine National Police chief has made the operation more challenging, prompting law enforcers to adopt unconventional strategies to track him down.

He added that the government is also working to bring Co back to the Philippines amid reports that the former lawmaker is in France seeking asylum and that Interpol will issue a red notice against him.

Authorities, meanwhile, believe Ang is likely still in the country despite reports that he fled abroad, saying he has been moving between hideouts every three to five days to evade arrest.

Remulla vowed to continue pursuing all fugitives, stressing that the law will take its course wherever they may be hiding.
