Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte called on PDP-Laban members to remain united as he renewed the party’s push for a federal form of government during its national assembly in Davao City.
He said federalism would give local governments greater autonomy and criticized the country’s unitary system for concentrating power in the national government.
Duterte also questioned government spending, raised concerns over alleged corruption, and criticized the administration’s handling of political issues.
He urged party members to focus on improving governance and preparing for the 2028 elections.
The assembly also discussed the party’s priorities, organizational plans, and future direction.
