House Assistant Majority Leader Brian Poe Llamanzares has renewed his call for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) companies to lower the commissions they take from drivers amid rising fuel costs.
During a House committee hearing, Poe cited rider-submitted evidence showing commission rates from platforms like Grab, Joyride, Angkas, and Move It still ranging from about 20% to over 23%, despite earlier claims of reductions.
He said these rates place a heavier burden on part-time drivers, including solo parents, and urged companies to implement a temporary, uniform cut in commissions.
Poe also pointed to inDrive’s lower commission rate of around 10% as a possible benchmark for the industry.
He called on TNVS firms to submit detailed data on their commission structures and said the issue will undergo further scrutiny in succeeding hearings.
