BRIAN POE ADVOCATES PROACTIVE CLIMATE MEASURES AT RESILIENCE FORUM

FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list Rep. Brian Poe called for proactive climate action and stronger collaboration among government, civil society, and the youth during the National Climate Resilience Forum 2026.

He said climate resilience should focus on preparedness through long-term planning, science-based policies, and investments rather than disaster response alone.

Poe also urged Congress to support climate financing for local governments and advance legislation on carbon credits, the blue economy, and the green circular economy.

He highlighted the Philippines’ progress in marine conservation, noting that the country has already exceeded its target for establishing marine protected area networks.

Poe reaffirmed Congress’ commitment to climate-responsive policies and stressed that building resilience requires a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.
