The Malabon City government launched its first Mega Job Fair and Livelihood Skills Training for 2026 on January 24, offering over 7,000 job openings in partnership with 40 local and six overseas companies.
Led by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and city officials, the event provided opportunities for positions ranging from seafarers and engineers to clerks, drivers, nurses, and production workers.
The city also set up a one-stop shop through PESO, allowing applicants hired on the spot to process government documents free of charge.
In addition to job matching, participants received livelihood and skills training in areas like hydroponics, basic air-conditioning maintenance, and making dishwashing liquid to help supplement their income.
City officials emphasized that the initiative aims to improve residents’ quality of life by providing both immediate employment and long-term livelihood opportunities.
