LTFRB ANNOUNCES START OF JEEPNEY CASH ASSISTANCE

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will provide monthly financial assistance of ₱20,000 to qualified transport service entities struggling to pay amortizations for modern jeepneys.

Acting LTFRB Chairman Greg Pua Jr. said the cash aid program will start this week and aims to help operators affected by rising fuel and operating costs.

The assistance will cover modern jeepneys and UV Express vehicles nationwide, as well as modern buses in Metro Manila.

Eligible operators with loan arrears or those at risk of default may receive assistance for up to three months.

The funds may be used for fuel, maintenance, spare parts, rentals, utilities, and other operating expenses.
