City of Malabon University has secured Institutional Recognition from the Commission on Higher Education, 33 years after the university was established.
Jeannie Sandoval said the recognition confirms that the university meets national standards for higher education and reflects the city’s commitment to improving education services.
The recognition also restores CMU’s eligibility for free tuition and subsidy programs after the university previously lost access due to compliance issues.
City officials said efforts to address governance, documentation, and academic compliance concerns intensified after Sandoval assumed office in 2022.
CMU officials described the recognition as a major milestone for the university and Malabueño students, with the school pledging to further improve its programs, facilities, and services.
