The Philippine Women’s National Team is confident heading into its Asian Games opener against Uzbekistan, with PFF President John Gutierrez predicting a victory for the Filipinas.
The team will look to repeat its earlier 2-0 win over Uzbekistan, which helped secure the Philippines’ place in next year’s World Cup.
Fil-Australian players Jacklyn Sawicki, Hali Long, Katrina Guillou, Olivia McDaniel and Carleigh Frilles are expected to bolster the squad, while Angela Beard will miss the match.
PSC Deputy Executive Director Guillermo Iroy also expressed confidence in the team, describing the match as a possible dress rehearsal ahead of the World Cup.
