Quezon City 5th District Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas submitted documents to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) proving that no projects in his district were awarded to contractor-couple Pacifico “Curlee” and Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya.
He voluntarily appeared before the ICI to clarify allegations linking him to a kickback scheme for government infrastructure projects.
The Discayas had previously named Vargas and several other lawmakers during Senate blue ribbon hearings, claiming they solicited money after winning contracts.
Vargas expressed gratitude for the chance to clear his name, emphasizing that his district has no ghost or Discaya-linked projects.
He added that he hopes the information he provided will assist the ICI in fulfilling its mandate while continuing to serve Novaliches residents transparently.
