The Office of the Ombudsman is still gathering evidence against former Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and two other officials over an alleged kickback scheme.
Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano said the case involving Bersamin, former Undersecretary Adrian Bersamin, and former Education Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar remains under fact-finding.
The three were tagged by former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, who alleged that Olaivar sought a 15% cut from infrastructure projects for Bersamin’s office.
Clavano said Bernardo’s statements are being treated as leads but still need to be supported by other evidence.
The Ombudsman is reviewing documents from the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the DPWH as part of the investigation.
