The Philippine National Police (PNP) has intensified operations against scam hubs that have allegedly resurfaced as smaller, “guerrilla-style” networks following the government’s crackdown on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogos).
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said authorities are verifying reports that these operations continue to exist in several areas and vowed to sustain efforts to dismantle them.
Former House quad committee chair Robert Ace Barbers earlier identified Baclaran, Binondo,
Parañaque, Palawan, and Cebu are locations where suspected Pogo-linked scam activities have reportedly shifted underground.
Nartatez said the PNP is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering, surveillance, and enforcement actions against suspected operators.
Despite the government’s ban on Pogos and the implementation of new inter-agency rules to prevent their return, authorities estimate that at least 100 rogue Pogo operations remain active in houses, hotels, and resorts across the country.
