NDRRMC: 61 KILLED, OVER 173,000 FAMILIES IMPACTED BY MINDANAO EARTHQUAKE

The death toll from the recent earthquake in Mindanao has risen to 61, with 54 fatalities recorded in Region 12 and seven in Region 11, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The agency also reported 11,403 injured individuals and 40 people still missing.

A total of 173,000 families, or about 724,000 individuals, have been affected by the disaster across the region.

The earthquake damaged 725 infrastructure facilities and 54,000 houses, with total infrastructure losses estimated at P1 billion, while 13 cities and municipalities have been placed under a state of calamity.

To aid recovery efforts, the government has so far provided P67.6 million worth of assistance to affected communities.
