The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and the Philippine College of Surgeons signed a Memorandum of Agreement on April 17, 2026, to improve access to quality surgical care in the Philippines.
Under the deal, both groups will develop surgical benefit packages, referral systems, and national quality standards supported by research and data mapping.
The partnership also aims to strengthen compliance, fraud detection, and ethical claims review among surgeons.
It will further create a joint mechanism for handling surgical claims and complaints while promoting best surgical practices.
Officials said the agreement supports the goal of Universal Health Care by ensuring safe and high-standard surgical services for Filipinos.
