Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is set to resume its investigation into alleged irregularities in multi-billion-peso flood control projects on November 14, pending his re-election as chair on November 10.
The upcoming hearing will focus on filing strong cases against politicians, DPWH officials, and contractors linked to the controversy.
Key witness retired TSgt. Orly Guteza, who claims to have delivered cash to former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, is expected to testify.
Previous issues surrounding Guteza’s notarized affidavit, which a lawyer denied signing, had delayed earlier hearings, including the canceled October 8 session.
Senate President Tito Sotto confirmed that Lacson will regain the chairmanship, allowing the probe to continue with the presentation of critical evidence and testimonies.
