ERWIN TULFO CONSULTS SENATORS ON BLUE RIBBON FLOOD PROBE

Erwin Tulfo said he will consult fellow senators before deciding whether the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee should continue its investigation into alleged flood control anomalies.

He said the committee must first be formally organized and reach a consensus on whether to pursue cases already under investigation by the Office of the Ombudsman.

Tulfo noted that the Senate is also focused on other priorities, including the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte and proposed oil price measures.

He said continuing the same cases may duplicate the Ombudsman’s work, as the Senate’s role is to conduct inquiries in aid of legislation.

However, Tulfo said the committee remains open to investigating any new flood control anomalies or newly implicated officials.
