The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has linked a Pasay-based anti-trafficking operation to establishments allegedly connected to the family of former lawmaker Mike Defensor, based on corporate records under his wife and son.
Authorities said 54 women were rescued and several individuals were arrested during a raid targeting a suspected trafficking network operating through the Chicago Nightclub and Bleu Hotel.
Investigators alleged that victims were recruited and exploited for sexual services, with transactions reportedly facilitated through a system involving the nightclub and hotel rooms.
The NBI also recovered marked money, suspected illegal drugs, paraphernalia, and documents, with arrested individuals facing charges under anti-trafficking and drug laws.
The bureau stressed that the identification of the registered owners is part of the ongoing investigation and does not automatically establish their involvement in the alleged crimes.
