President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday pledged to increase funding for the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) if local officials ensure its proper and effective use.
He made the statement during a rice and financial subsidy distribution program in Batangas City, where each of the province’s 1,078 barangays received P200,000 in assistance.
Marcos urged local government leaders to properly implement government programs, stressing that public benefits depend on their performance and accountability.
He warned that ineffective execution would prevent communities from feeling the impact of government support.
The event also saw more than 235,000 Batangueño beneficiaries receiving 10 kilograms of rice each.
