The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said it will file a human trafficking complaint against former lawmaker Mike Defensor before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office on June 26 over his alleged involvement in a KTV bar previously raided for suspected sexual exploitation activities.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag said investigators found documents, including the building’s floor plans, that allegedly indicate Defensor knew of and allowed structural modifications that facilitated the suspected trafficking operation.
These alterations reportedly included private rooms, hidden staircases, and concealed doors that violated the National Building Code.
Defensor has denied the allegations, while his wife, Julie Rose Defensor, and son, Miguel Gabriel Defensor, were earlier subjected to legal proceedings in connection with the same case.
The former lawmaker is also facing separate criminal charges alongside 18 alleged former Marines and lawyer Levito Baligod over public accusations against several current and former government officials.
