The Department of Education (DepEd) emphasized the need for a whole-of-government approach to address the country’s learning crisis, calling for stronger coordination among agencies, Congress, local governments, and the private sector.
DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted that while the department has started key reforms, many solutions—such as improving early childhood education, child nutrition, and technical-vocational tracks—require collaboration across multiple agencies.
The formal turnover of the EDCOM 2 Final Report and the National Education and Workforce Development Plan to President Marcos outlined a 10-year roadmap to reverse learning losses and better align education with workforce needs.
DepEd also called on Congress and the Department of Budget and Management to support legislative updates, funding, and staffing reforms to ensure the effective implementation of these programs.
Angara stressed that sustained progress depends on inter-agency coordination, aligned budgets, and joint accountability to ensure reforms translate into improved outcomes for students, teachers, and learners nationwide.
