DEPED RECEIVES CLEAN AUDIT OPINION UNDER ANGARA’S REFORM INITIATIVE

The Department of Education (DepEd) has improved its compliance with Commission on Audit (COA) recommendations, resolving 83% of outstanding audit findings in 2025, up from 52% the previous year.

The agency fully addressed 307 of 368 actionable audit recommendations, reflecting stronger governance, internal controls, and financial management.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara credited the progress to reforms aimed at promoting transparency and accountability under the Marcos administration.

DepEd also received an Unmodified Audit Opinion from COA for the third consecutive year, the highest audit rating issued by the state auditor.

The department said it will continue working with COA to resolve the remaining audit findings and strengthen accountability across its offices nationwide.
