The Senate will unseal boxes of documents and computer files on Monday from former Bulacan engineer Brice Hernandez, which may contain evidence against lawmakers linked to flood-control anomalies, Senator Panfilo Lacson said.
Hernandez, who is currently detained by the Senate blue ribbon panel, was allowed to leave temporarily to gather these materials.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III granted this permission to ensure the chain of custody is preserved for possible court use.
The documents could be presented at the panel’s next hearing on September 23, where new developments may also be discussed.
Hernandez had previously accused Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Joel Villanueva, and former Rep. Mitch Cajayon-Uy of involvement but held back due to a lack of evidence.
