Former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo credited the senatorial victories of Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan in the 2025 midterms to their political flexibility and openness to dissenting views.
She said their pragmatic approach, which involved cooperating with local officials across political lines, was key to overcoming rigid partisanship despite some backlash from supporters.
Robredo urged the opposition to adopt a more pluralistic strategy ahead of the 2028 elections, embracing differing viewpoints and coordinated roles to increase their chances of success.
She also highlighted the need to move away from “cancel culture” in politics, which she observed as a barrier during the recent elections.
Meanwhile, Aquino and Pangilinan are reportedly aligning with the Senate majority as they seek committee chairmanships focused on education and agriculture.
