The Quezon City government has pledged transparency in using funds from the national government’s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) to benefit residents.
City officials, including Mayor Joy Belmonte, assured the public that every peso will be properly managed for projects enhancing infrastructure, medical services, and disaster preparedness.
The commitment was made during the launch of the “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” initiative at Malacañang, attended by other local leaders such as Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto and Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
President Marcos announced nearly ₱58 billion in LGSF allocations this year, more than double last year’s budget, supporting programs like the Financial Assistance to LGUs and Barangay Development initiatives.
Quezon City emphasized that LGUs must meet project requirements to access the funds, which aim to ensure swift and effective implementation of local programs.
