The League of Municipalities in the Philippines has assured that the record P58.32-billion Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) proposed for 2027 will be used properly and transparently.
LMP President Faustino “Inno” Dy V said local governments will follow Department of Budget and Management guidelines and strict auditing and accountability rules.
The proposed fund includes P37.49 billion in financial assistance, P10.3 billion for the Growth Equity Fund, P9.74 billion for the Barangay Development Program, and P1 billion for participatory budgeting.
Dy said safeguards are in place to ensure the funds are distributed fairly and free from political favoritism.
The LGSF may support projects such as farm-to-market roads, water systems, health facilities, evacuation centers, and other local development programs.
