The Commission on Audit (COA) has flagged the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for a new P300 million in “disallowed” confidential funds, separate from a previously finalized P73.2 million return order, according to Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon.
Ridon said the earlier case has already reached finality and may now be elevated to the Supreme Court if contested, while the new P300 million notice of disallowance is still subject to appeal.
He noted that both issues are linked to the use of intelligence and confidential funds, which form part of a broader P612.5 million in questioned expenditures.
COA has also affirmed the disallowance of the P73.2 million, ordering its return and identifying Vice President Sara Duterte and other officials as accountable for the funds.
The lawmaker said the latest findings suggest a continuing pattern of transactions under scrutiny, as part of the confidential funds issued to the OVP in 2022.
