The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will continue filing cases against officials and personnel linked to anomalous flood control projects, with charges to be referred to the Office of the Ombudsman, Secretary Vince Dizon said.
Over 40 individuals, including at least 20 DPWH officials, have already faced graft and corruption charges, reflecting the department’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
Dizon assured the public that ongoing works along the Maharlika Highway are temporary measures to ensure smooth travel during Holy Week, with permanent fixes planned afterward.
The DPWH is preparing procurement and bidding for more extensive rehabilitation projects in Quezon, Bicol, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Samar, targeting completion by June 2027.
Project designs are already finalized, and the department continues to prioritize both infrastructure development and the rooting out of corrupt practices within its ranks.
