Organizers of the upcoming “Concert at Sea for Peace and Solidarity” emphasized that the event near Pag-asa Island in the West Philippine Sea is meant to raise awareness, not escalate tensions.
The concerts, scheduled for May 26 in El Nido and May 28 near Pag-asa Island, aim to inform Filipinos and neighboring countries about ongoing regional issues.
Ed dela Torre, president of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, expressed hope that the event would focus public interest without distractions.
The organizers are coordinating with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources to ensure participant safety.
Performers include Filipino and international artists, and both concerts will be livestreamed on Facebook.
