The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is fast-tracking the Port Town Housing Project in Manila to provide modern homes for over 6,000 informal settler residents.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the project is a joint venture between Pag-IBIG Fund and the Social Housing Finance Corporation, with the first phase delivering 2,150 housing units across five buildings.
The homes aim to address the urgent need for affordable, ready-to-occupy housing for Manila’s informal settler families.
Aliling conducted a site inspection to monitor progress and ensure construction standards are maintained.
DHSUD is also partnering with other agencies, including the National Housing Authority, to expand 4PH projects nationwide and help more families achieve homeownership.
