Risa Sato has returned to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after signing with the Akari Chargers, the team announced on July 2.
The 31-year-old middle blocker is expected to bring experience and depth to Akari’s lineup.
Sato previously played for BaliPure, Creamline Cool Smashers, and Chery Tiggo before stepping away from volleyball in 2025 to give birth to her first child.
Akari said her championship experience and energy will be a major boost to the team.
She is set to team up with fellow middle blockers Fifi Sharma and Ced Domingo.
