South Korean actor and ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo has officially embraced the Catholic faith after being baptized during his mandatory military service, according to his agency Fantagio.
The baptism reportedly took place last month at a military Catholic church, where he received the baptismal name John the Apostle.
Cha enlisted in July 2025 and is currently serving in the Ministry of National Defense military band’s Fanfare Detachment.
Under South Korea’s military rules, service members may attend religious services regardless of prior beliefs.
He is expected to complete his service and be discharged on January 27 next year.
