The Philippines’ Unified 911 Command Center will soon be upgraded with the Unified Platform for Communications & Dispatch (UPCAD) to enhance emergency response. This upgrade features durable smartphones, tablets, and a mission-critical dispatch console that delivers real-time data, geolocation tracking, secure messaging, and live video feeds for first responders.
A forum on Jan. 21 showcased the technology with government agencies, the military, civil defense units, and foreign representatives highlighting global best practices.
Developed with NGA 911 Philippines, NGCS, PLDT, ePLDT, and international partners, the system will be integrated into national 911 services in February to ensure faster, safer, and more coordinated responses.
Officials emphasized that UPCAD unifies agencies and responders, connecting people and technology seamlessly, and making the Philippines the first Southeast Asian country with a complete Next Generation 911 call system.
The upgrade aims to enhance situational awareness, interoperability, and public safety nationwide.
