The Sandiganbayan Special Division has junked the remaining asset claims in a forfeiture case involving the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
In a June 2, 2026, resolution, the court noted that the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) had manifested that it would no longer present evidence on properties not covered by previous partial summary judgments.
The PCGG, tasked with recovering alleged Marcos’ ill-gotten wealth, said most of the assets had already been recovered through other means.
The court ruled that, in the absence of evidence and in light of the PCGG’s manifestation, the remaining proceedings were terminated and Civil Case No. 0141 was dismissed as to the remaining properties.
Earlier partial judgments had already ordered forfeiture of assets, including Swiss deposits, Arelma accounts, jewelry, and artwork proceeds worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
