Ifugao officials have appealed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to release emergency funds for the rehabilitation of the Batad Rice Terraces, which were heavily damaged by a landslide caused by Super Typhoon Uwan.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site suffered damage to its centuries-old irrigation system and rice paddies, affecting around 150 farmers.
Provincial officials estimate that at least P30 million is needed for rehabilitation and warned that delays could worsen the damage during the rainy season.
Residents have continued repair efforts through community-led initiatives despite limited resources.
Officials said immediate government support is needed to preserve the historic terraces and protect the livelihood of local farmers.
