LANDSLIDES IN BENGUET, RIZAL LEAVE 4 DEAD

Continuous rains brought by tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay and the southwest monsoon have left at least four people dead, according to the NDRRMC.

Two people were killed in a landslide in La Trinidad, Benguet, while two others died in a rockslide in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The weather disturbances have affected more than 80,000 people nationwide, with nearly 7,000 displaced and staying in evacuation centers.

PAGASA warned that habagat and the remnants of Maymay could continue to bring heavy rains, while Typhoon Dolphin is expected to enhance the monsoon despite remaining outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The government has placed disaster agencies on full alert and prepared food packs and funds to assist communities affected by the bad weather.
