The Philippines joined 34 other economies in signing a US-led joint statement supporting the responsible and innovation-driven development of artificial intelligence under the Pax Silica initiative.
Signatories pledged to strengthen AI supply chains through cooperation in research, critical minerals, semiconductors, and technology investment.
The alliance also aims to promote economic security, entrepreneurship, and fair competition in AI development.
The Philippines became a member of Pax Silica in April and has partnered with the US to develop a 1,600-hectare industrial hub in New Clark City.
The initiative seeks to build more resilient global supply chains for AI and other critical technologies.
