AirAsia Philippines was named the world’s most punctual low-cost airline in July by aviation analyst OAG, posting a 94.42 percent on-time rate across 2,248 flights with no cancellations.
AirAsia Philippines President and CEO Anna Victoria Lu said fleet adjustments helped the airline reduce fuel use and improve flight operations amid higher jet fuel prices.
The carrier previously ranked fourth globally in June with a 92.96 percent on-time rate.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific is expanding its international network ahead of the Undas and Christmas travel seasons.
It will restore flights to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi and launch new Cebu routes to Shanghai and Nagoya, while resuming Manila-Xiamen flights.
