In celebration of 77 years of bilateral ties, the Philippines and South Korea signed seven business deals covering shipbuilding, nuclear energy, aerospace, critical minerals, retail, and health during the Philippines-Korea Business Forum in Pasay City.
Key agreements included partnerships between Meralco and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power for nuclear projects, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries with TESDA on shipbuilding technology.
President Marcos highlighted the deals as a continuation of the countries’ strong partnership, promising projects, investments, and job creation.
The signing coincided with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s state visit, during which 10 government-to-government agreements were also inked across digital, defense, agriculture, trade, and cultural sectors.
In education, the Philippines renewed its SPFL-Korean program to expand language and cultural training in 69 public high schools, benefiting nearly 5,000 students and 168 teachers.
